Traditional and modern Arabic songs taught through listening and reading help to enhance listening comprehension and speaking ability in a culturally enriching class for the intermediate student.

This course has vocabulary that you might not find in other courses, because songs are written in a different and special way.  While the style of songs is different than stories and movies, they are a powerful influence on Arabic culture and the language of everyday life – something that all Lebanese and most Arabs can relate to no matter what their background is.

 

In this class students will improve listening, comprehension, vocabulary and verbs.  Some words and sayings covered in this class are culturally a bit higher than everyday street level speech.  The course does not teach any grammar.

Music Course 1 features children songs that every Lebanese knows by heart.  In the class we also memorized them by heart.  Most songs are by the famous singer: “Majidda al Roumi”.
