Arabic calligraphy is the practice of handwriting based on the Arabic alphabet known as الخط. It is beautiful, artistic and complicated, an ancient skill which permeates Arabic culture from art through religion.
At Saifi we developed our own unique font based on the most commonly used handwriting strokes to make the Arabic script easier for foreign students to learn and read. We are passionate about calligraphy and offer this class so that our students can experience the joy of learning how to write beautifully in Arabic.
This course is suitable for anyone interested in art and design, wishing to improve their Arabic writing skills; or those researching religion, archaeology and history as knowledge of الخط enables learners to read complex scripts found in ancient texts.
This course runs for 3 hours once a week with a total of 15 teaching hours.
