This conversation class runs alongside the Urban Arabic Elementary course using the vocabulary and grammar provided in class (Elementary – High and/or Intensive.) Additional words and phrases on the topics discussed in class are provided to increase confidence and fluency when speaking. The course uses games, activities, songs, and the ART methodology to improve recall. On completion of this course students will have:
- Expanded vocabulary through repetition (ART) and word games
- Learned how to narrate the events of their life by reading short stories about a character named “Abu Jameel”
- Increased speaking confidence by engaging in group conversations and dialogues on a variety of topics
- Developed listening skills from hearing songs with increasingly complex lyrics and watching short advertising messages and videos
This course is run at a regular pace and comprises 30 instruction hours.
